EPA Proposes First Guidelines to Cut Carbon Pollution from Existing Power Plants Watch EPA's Video: Clean Power Plan Explained Understanding State Goals under the Clean Power Plan EPA Proposes First Guidelines to Cut Carbon Pollution from Existing Power Plants EPA recently released the Clean Power Plan proposal - the first to cut carbon pollution from existing power plants. The proposal will protect public health, move the United States toward a cleaner environment and fight climate change while supplying Americans with reliable and affordable power. The Clean Power Plan will be implemented through a state-federal partnership under which states identify a path forward.  Public hearings on the Clean Power Plan will be held:  July 29, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia and Denver, Colorado;  July 30, 2014 in Washington, DC; and  July 31, 2014 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Learn more about the hearings and how to comment on the proposal here. http://go.usa.gov/8Aqd Watch EPA's Video: Clean Power Plan Explained In EPA's whiteboard video, Joe Goffman, Associate Assistant Administrator for Climate, explains the commonsense proposal to work with states, cities and businesses to cut carbon pollution from power plants.
