Stay Aware; Listen

Every 13 minutes one person commits suicide. In fact, suicide is one of the leading causes of death among 15-24 year olds. It’s a serious public health issue that affects families and communities across the nation.

Its causes can be complex and involve many factors from: mental illness and abuse to violence and social isolation. Learn to recognize the signs and what you can do to help.

If you or someone you know is in need of help, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1 800-273-TALK (8255) available 24/7 throughout the year. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, do not leave the person alone and call 911. Knowing what resources are available, could save a life.
