HOLIDAY SAFETY

Toys

With holiday shopping in full swing, t’is the season to talk about toy safety. Thanks to independent testing of toys, a strong toy safety standard, and lowest lead limits in the world, parents can shop with greater confidence this holiday season.  But, we still want parents to think safety when making toy purchases. Two ways they can keep gift giving from turning to tragedy are 1) reading the labels and packaging on toys to make sure they are suitable for the child's age and 2) making sure that appropriate safety gear is included with gifts of riding toys.

To give parents a quick guide to good holiday toy safety practices, download and share CPSC publication 281, “For Kids’ Sake. Think Toy Safety” - http://www.cpsc.gov//PageFiles/122476/281.pdf and the NSN Poster, “Play it Safe.”

As always, thanks for helping us spread the word about product safety in your community.
