Holiday Cooking Fire Safety
A kitchen fire caused by unattended cooking is the top cause of fires in the home. This threat triples on Thanksgiving Day! That’s why CPSC urges you to tell families in your community to say four lifesaving words to the cooks who are frying, grilling or broiling food for the holidays: Stand By Your Pan!
Those four words may mean the difference between a family gathered inside their home watching the game and a family huddled outside watching firemen try to save their house.
Print, post or tweet the poster Stand By Your Pan as a graphic reminder to share with families - http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Safety-Education/Neighborhood-Safety-Network/Posters/Stand-by-Your-Pan.
More holiday cooking safety information is on the CPSC website at http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Newsroom/News-Releases/2015/Stand-by-Your-Pan-Protect-Your-Family-from-Cooking-Fires-and-Food-Poisoning.
More free fire safety resources are available at the CPSC Fire Safety Information Center - http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Safety-Education/Safety-Education-Centers/Fire-Safety-Information-Center.
As always, thanks for helping us spread the word about product safety in your community.
Carl
