 The Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards recognize organizations that have created a groundbreaking process or product that helps promote public health while protecting the environment. For nearly 20 years, the awards have created innovative tools with strong environmental impacts. Award-winning technologies have reduced 826 million pounds of hazardous chemicals, saved 21 billion gallons of water, and eliminated 7.8 billion pounds of carbon dioxide releases. Nominations are due by December 31, 2014. The award categories include: academic, small business, greener synthetic pathways, greener reaction conditions and designing greener chemicals, and climate change.
