ADVISORY: EPA Administrator to Deliver Keynote Speech on the Economics of Climate Change

First of a series of addresses focused on economic opportunity, cost of inaction

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy will give a keynote speech on the economic needs for acting on climate change at the Resources for the Future (RFF) Policy Leadership Forum in Washington, DC.  This will be the first in a series of addresses where McCarthy will make the case about the economic opportunity and the cost of inaction when it comes to climate change. McCarthy’s remarks Thursday will focus on how we can turn our climate challenge into an opportunity to modernize our power sector, lay the foundation for a low-carbon economy, and fuel growth for decades to come. A world-leading economy depends on a healthy environment and a safe climate, which is why this past June, EPA proposed the Clean Power Plan to cut carbon pollution from our largest source, power plants. The RFF Policy Leadership Forum can be attended in person at the RFF Conference Center or via live webcast.
